7. Check-In (Assembly Area)

Persons in charge of entries must report to the Check-In point on Old Yale Road at 268 St. (which is north of Fraser Hwy.) to confirm their position allocation. Position numbers will be marked along the Assembly Area starting with Number 1 at the front of the Parade which is at Old Yale and Fraser Hwy. across from the Community Policing station.

Parade position numbers will be assigned at the Check-In. Please
ensure that all participants are aware of your position number and
the Entry name you’re registered under. Each Entry will be given
their position number printed on a laminated paper which will
need to be attached to the RIGHT side of your Entry in clear view
for the announcer to see.

8. Your Position In The Parade

Every effort will be made to position entries in an entertaining and coordinated manner. To ensure you are in the correct position, check the numbers ahead and behind you to see that you are in sequence. We count on each participant to assist in keeping the Parade in order. If there is a problem advise the Check-In crew immediately.

9. Keep the Pace!

In order to assure that the procession moves smoothly, we need your help in maintaining the pace and the space. Keep spacing of 50 feet (about 4 car lengths) behind the Entry ahead of you. Parade Marshals will be situated along the route to ensure this is maintained; please abide by their instructions.

10. Horses (& Other Animals)

Please be considerate of all animal entries. Stay well clear of such entries and be as calm as possible. Participants with animal entries should be well stocked with water and appropriate control devices. Animal entries must be followed by a clean-up crew (an award will be given to the best clean-up crew).

11. Judging

There will be no judging of this Parade. Everyone is a winner!

12. Inform Your Team

Please make sure that all participants in your Entry are aware of your Entry number and the name you entered with. Every year we have people searching for their group and they don’t know where they are positioned and not certain what name their group is!

Other Notes

There is no Entry Fee for the Parade, but we encourage you to please bring a donation for the Aldergrove Food Bank. The Parade will disperse at Fraser Hwy. and 273 St., by heading South on 273 St. Please watch for volunteers to direct you.

Floats carrying children only, will be directed by volunteers to pull over briefly on 273 St. for children to dismount safely. All participants must disembark float on the sidewalk please. Parents please make individual plans to meet children at this location. Floats that require space to make adjustments after the parade can proceed to the Shortreed Elementary School parking lot.

We invite you to attend a FREE Pre-Parade Community Gathering at 270th St. and Fraser Hwy. (old KFC location) from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, which will include food, hot beverages and entertainment. We hear that Santa will be there too!

A portable washroom and Aldergrove Food Bank donation box will be located in the Marshalling area.

The real Santa will be visiting the Parade this year. We ask that your Entry does not have a Santa. Elves are good, but, please, there is just one Santa!
