Loverboy is coming to Aldergrove!

The winners of a record 6 Junos in one year, and sellers of over 10 million albums, will be live on stage at the coming Aldergrove Fair on Saturday 20th July.

The news was announced by the very excited Fair President, Robin McIntosh. “This is an amazing boost for the Fair” he said. “We are enormously grateful to Craig Nicholson and the Nicholson Group for their energy, enthusiasm and commitment to our community which is making this possible.”

Loverboy is one of Canada’s most successful acts ever. They were formed in Calgary in 1978, inducted into the Canadian Hall of Fame in 2009, released their latest album in 2014, and are still headlining rock festivals around the world. Their high energy shows have always been their calling card according to lead singer Mike Reno. “Something’s in the water,” he says. “I go to these concerts expecting there to be 3,000 people, and there’s seven or eight thousand people! And most of them are young! Even kiddies, like 10 years old. They even know all the words. It’s freaking me out.”

Their string of hits includes, in addition to the anthem “Working for the Weekend,” such arena rock staples as “Lovin’ Every Minute of It,” “This Could Be the Night,” “Hot Girls in Love,” “The Kid is Hot Tonite,” “Notorious”, “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over,” “Heaven In Your Eyes” and “Queen of the
Broken Hearts.”

In 1989 Loverboy were one of the top 5 grossing touring acts in the world. Thanks to Nicholson Group the Aldergrove Fair’s tagline of Unique World-class Fun certainly sounds like it will be achieved again with the 2019 Fair.
